Jeff Dodson

Jeff Dodson is an award-winning composer, sound designer and audio director whose work spans film, television, video games, advertising and interactive entertainment. A graduate of Pratt Institute in New York City, Dodson built his career creating distinctive music and sound for major entertainment brands, including complete network audio rebrands for Showtime Networks and G4TV. He later collaborated with ALIBI Music on the sonic identity for Amazon Games, combining retro synthesis with contemporary sound design to create the company’s audio logo. His work on the G4TV network redesign earned a Silver PromaxBDA Award in 2008.

Dodson’s video game credits include music for Activision’s X-Men: The Official Game and additional music for Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer. He later composed the full soundtrack for the action RPG Fictorum. His music and sound design have also been extensively licensed throughout theatrical trailers, television spots and home entertainment campaigns, with work appearing across properties including Star Wars, Marvel, X-Men, Transformers, Hellboy, Alita and numerous major studio releases.

For Red Bull’s acclaimed snowboarding film The Art of Flight, Dodson created sound design and spent a week at Skywalker Ranch overseeing his work through the film’s final sound mix.

In 2011, his sound design for Rainfall Films’ The Damage Done contributed to the film earning three Telly Awards, including an award for sound design. His sound redesign for Prologue’s Disney TRON identity work was part of an Art Directors Club award-winning project. His work through Rainfall and Runsilent has also included clients such as Disney, Nike, Ferrari, Netflix, HBO, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Paramount.

More recently, Dodson has brought his background in cinematic sound design and interactive audio to pinball. His work with Barrels of Fun includes sound design for Dune, extensive sound design and audio work for Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, and serving as audio director while creating music, sound effects and voice-over for Winchester Mystery House and Bon Jovi. Two of those titles have ranked in Pinside’s Top 10 pinball machines.
