Rainfall Films is a Los Angeles production company focused on quality storytelling, striking visuals, and innovative design. The combined experience of the in-house team covers award-winning feature films, commercials, music videos, short films, live events, and new media content. The company consists of three departments: RAINFALL FILMS, for live-action production, RAINFALL, for post-production (editorial, visual effects, advertising, motion graphics), and RUNSILENT, for original music and sound design.
In recent years, Rainfall has made a concentrated push into advertising/branding, working with many of the world’s top agencies and marketers. Work produced has involved theatrical trailers, main title design, social media videos, and installation presentations for Times Square and LA Live. These projects have included Stranger Things, Emmy Awards, American Horror Story, Justice League, Lemony Snicket, Transformers, Mission Impossible: Fallout, and Bird Box.
Rainfall Films has created many high profile productions, beginning with the Legend of Zelda April Fool’s trailer in 2008. Within 24 hours of its release on IGN.com, it was watched over 2.5 million times, became the #1 video on Youtube and MySpace, and was the 4th most Googled term in the world. Variety declared it “the most watched trailer on the Internet.”
Subsequent productions include the official making-of documentary for the Sony PS3 game Killzone 3, several television specials for the G4 Network, award-winning shorts such as The Damage Done and The Hunt, and national broadcast commercials for IGN and LOST. A “FANtasy Filmmaking” project, where fans vote on a subject matter, led to viral hits like Wonder Woman and Metroid: The Sky Calls, receiving millions of hits and coverage on Nerdist, Kotaku, io9, Hollywood Reporter, Good Morning America, and the Today show.
Runsilent, specializing in sound production, is a creative audio source for motion graphics and advertising firms. It launched with the audio rebranding of the G4 Television network in 2007, then relaunched in 2009 as a partner to Rainfall Films. Runsilent now offers original music and sound design for clients around the globe, including Nike, Ferrari, Disney, Philips, Jagermeister, and did a complete rebrand of Showtime. Recently, a partnership with Alibi Music Library has spread Runsilent’s work to film trailers and commercials for nearly every major studio.
